Bobby Humphryes - Jefferson County Commissioner District 3

Bobby Humphryes is Commissioner for Jefferson County, District 3. As Commissioner, his responsibilities include Roads & Transportation and Emergency Management Agency (EMA).

Commissioner Humphryes is a native of Bessemer, Alabama. He is a graduate of Jefferson State Community College with an Associate of Science degree in Fire Science.

Commissioner Humphryes is a past member of the Midfield City Council (1992 to 1995) and a former District 51 Constable (1996 to 1998).

First elected to the Alabama House of Representatives in a special election in 1998, Commissioner Humphryes was re-elected for two full terms to represent District 51 followed by District 15.

Commissioner Humphryes retired from the City of Birmingham in 2003, where he served as a Firefighter and Fire Lieutenant for a total of 25 years.

Commissioner Humphryes was employed with Rural/Metro Ambulance Service of Central Alabama as Director of Community Development. His direct responsibilities included planning, organizing and directing efforts to represent Rural/Metro in the State of Alabama, establishing relationships to benefit the organization.

Commissioner Humphryes has been married to the former Marcy Brasher of Bessemer, Alabama since April of 1980. They have two daughters and are the proud grandparents to four beautiful grandchildren ranging in age from 6 to 14.

Commissioner Humphryes is widely respected throughout the State of Alabama for his commitment to the communities and districts in which he serves.

Jefferson County District 3 consist of the cities of Pleasant Grove, Hueytown, Adamsville, Graysville, Brookside, West Jefferson, Mulga, Maytown, Sylvan Springs and most of unincorporated Western and Northwest Jefferson County. It also includes parts of Bessemer, Hoover, and Gardendale.
